Bethlehem Japan Peace Project

The Bethlehem Area Public Library and Lehigh Valley-JAJAJA are happy to announce the Japan Peace Project! This project is an interconnected series of art and musical performances to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. We are also celebrating the longstanding 60+ year Sister City relationship between Bethlehem, PA and Tondabayashi, Japan and  looking to inspire the next generation of peace through music, art, and food.

On September 13, the Sister City Peace Concert will be held at the BAPL Main Library. All are invited to join us for a vibrant celebration of peace and friendship, uniting the communities of Bethlehem, PA and Tondabayashi, Japan. Through powerful performances, inspiring art, and shared cuisine, this special event honors the bond between our sister cities and the hope we carry together for a more harmonious world. Please register for the event here. It is free to attend!

Donations and sponsorships to support the Peace Project may be made here.

In addition to the concert, the event will also include:

  • Sister Cities Mayors’ Message
  • Violin that survived the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb
  • International Kids Guernica Peace Mural Project
  • Taiko Drums
  • Folk and classical performers
  • Reception with refreshments

We hope to see you there!
